Who do you work with?

If you are looking for support around grief and loss, physical health issues, burnout, or major life changes and transitions, you have come to the right place. We work with adults (age 18 and older) and families.

We also work with healthcare professionals and professional and non-professional caregivers who support people experiencing grief/loss, health issues, and trauma.

Where are you located?

We have offices located at 6401 Rosemount Drive NW Gig Harbor, Washington 98335 and 309 South G Street Suite 4, Tacoma, WA 98405

For Gig Harbor: You may park on the gravel drive directly in front of the building, or in the paved driveway. The office entrance is the sliding glass door on the right-hand side of the building. Please ring the bell on the outside of the door to alert us that you have arrived. Once you have done so, please enter and make yourself comfortable in the waiting room. We will be with you shortly. Note: There is no receptionist.

For Tacoma: We are on the first floor in a historical building directly across from the Seymour Conservatory at Wright Park. In addition to the parking directly in front of our building, there is additional street parking nearby, including the circle drive for the Conservatory at Wright Park. Once inside, please make yourself comfortable in the waiting area either near the reception desk or in the hallway. Your therapist will be with you shortly. Add a little play time into your day. Go for a walk around Wright Park or enjoy the Conservatory while you are here for your appointment.

What can I expect during my first appointment?

Your first appointment will last 60 minutes. You will have the opportunity to talk about the concerns that are bringing you to counseling. We’ll talk about how we work and answer any questions you may have. We’ll also spend some time talking about details, plans and goals moving forward. We may have resources or referrals to share with you, and we’ll discuss paperwork. Payment will be processed, and if this feels like a good fit, we’ll schedule your next session.

What about follow-up sessions?

Sessions are 60 minutes unless we have arranged otherwise. Under most circumstances, we meet with people weekly. During each session, we will do a check-in regarding your week, discuss successes, challenges and setbacks, and goals moving forward.

How much does counseling cost?

Initial session (75 to 90 minutes): $225

In-office or video counseling session (60 minutes): $150

Clinical supervision (60 minutes): $125

Payment is due at the time of service via cash, check or credit card.

We are in-network providers with Premera, Blue Cross, Regence, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Kaiser, TriCare, and First Choice Health Network. If we are not in-network with your insurance, we can provide you with documentation to submit to your insurance (“superbill”) for out-of-network reimbursement for our sessions.

How does online counseling work?

Online/Video counseling sessions are available for clients who want to work with us and are not local, have difficulty making it to in-person sessions, are out of town, or unavailable to come to the office. This platform can be used on an on-going basis, or when convenient. All that is needed for these sessions is a computer or mobile device, high-speed internet, and a headset (standard earbuds that come with your mobile phone should work just fine).

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations need to be made at least 2 days in advance to avoid paying a fee (the fee is what would normally be paid by you or the insurance company, for the appointment). Insurance cannot be billed for missed appointments.

To ensure full commitment to therapy, we offer video and phone sessions, as well as afternoon and evening appointments.

When full, we may have limited openings each week for rescheduled appointments. Please keep this in mind as you decide if we are a good fit for you.
