Therapy should be an open, non-judgmental space to process what you’re going through.

Grief can be all-consuming. Along with sadness come feelings of fear and anger, questions about meaning or purpose, doubt about the future, and so many other feelings and emotions. Maybe you recently experienced a loss and are early in your journey of living with your grief, or perhaps you’re years removed but noticing how it continues to impact you. I believe that everything you’re experiencing is valid and deserving of support.

I work with clients who need a safe space to express what’s going on in their lives, to be able to be candid without fear of someone hijacking the conversation about their loss or tiring of hearing about it. While it may feel like it sometimes, there is nothing wrong with you. There is simply a lot going on in your life, and I want to support you in embracing that: noticing your own strength and resilience in the midst of this experience.

In addition to educating and normalizing the experience of grief, I also offer clients a mix of support, strategies, and tools. We’ll look at ways to honor memorials or milestones, coping strategies for when a fresh wave of grief hits, and communication and relationship skills that help you honor your own needs while remaining connected to your support system.

This is a place where you can authentically show up. No agenda, no judgment. Just support.

A little more about me…

I started Gig Harbor Counseling Services in 2018. Today, in addition to working with clients, I also provide consultation and supervision to other clinicians so they can best serve and support their clients.

I love to be outdoors, enjoy live music and theater, and relish time with my 4 cats and dog. I love learning new things, taking on new challenges, spending time with my family, or getting lost in a good book, especially historical fiction.

Since I was young, I’ve been curious about people and their resilience. I’m fascinated by the ways people get through difficult circumstances and love the fulfillment that comes from supporting them in overcoming challenges. I am grateful for the opportunity to extend support to others the way it’s been extended to me over the years.

I saw my first counselor at the age of 15 and am still in contact with her. My work in this field is directly related to the impact she had in my life and I am eternally grateful for her wisdom and support.

We are not islands unto ourselves and I’ve seen just how integral connection is to our overall well-being. I believe that holding space for and connecting with clients is one of the most important aspects of therapy.
