I believe everyone possesses resilience and a capacity for healing and growth, no matter what they’ve experienced.
Are you facing something no one else in your life seems to understand? Maybe they seem to have “moved on” from a loss you both experienced, and now you’re left grappling with it on your own. Perhaps life has changed in another big way recently—retirement, divorce, or a job change—and no one really gets the sense of uncertainty, sadness, or stress you feel. You don’t see the meaning and purpose you used to in your life and you’re not sure if you can ever feel happy (or even just comfortable) again.
Grief—whether due to death or another kind of loss—can be incredibly isolating. It can be difficult to find people to share your feelings with, people who really listen and don’t feel uncomfortable with the truths you want to share. I want to offer you a safe place where you can explore, acknowledge and speak your thoughts, feelings and deepest truths without judgment. No matter what your current life circumstances are, you will be met with respect, compassion, a listening ear and support. I’m here to offer you hope, insight, care and tools to find a different path forward.
My approach to therapy is client-centered and nonjudgmental. That means we’ll start by identifying what’s most important to you, then allowing that to guide our path forward. My goal is to encourage you in tapping into your own strengths and intuition, support you in learning new skills and insight, and empower you in crafting a life that brings you contentment and meaning.
I want to help you achieve a higher level of contentment, fulfillment, and joy in life—however that looks for you.
A little more about me…
I share my home with my husband and three very lovable rescue dogs. I enjoy reading, spending time in nature hiking and skiing, and creating memories with family and friends.
Many years ago I left a corporate career to explore work that is more meaningful to me. Over the past 16 years, I have collaborated with a variety of clients who were facing challenges in their lives. From incarcerated women making plans for their post-prison lives, to geriatric clients adapting to changes in their living environment, to people facing life limiting illnesses, it has been an honor to accompany each of them on their unique journeys
There have been times in my own life when I turned to a therapist to find my way out of a dark place and back into the light, so I know that this can feel like a big step. I’ll meet you with respect, compassion, gentle listening, and a desire to see you achieve your goals.
“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” - Viktor Frankl
