When we think of loss we tend to think of the death of a person we love. But loss is far more than that. We experience loss not only through death, but in change, letting go, and moving forward.
Such events can include getting married, getting separated or divorced, welcoming a new child, relocating, changing jobs, or experiencing financial distress. Whether we perceive the particular event as positive or negative, change in our lives can be very stressful. When our stress levels get high, it can become threatening to our relationships and even our health. Counseling can adjust your reactions to stressful situations and help you to better manage and cope with change.
